On 1 October 2013, BBC reported that "The 50 year old man - who still gets asked for ID" ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-24348390). So this was news worth a BBC report. But I am a 55 year old man, and unlike the guy in the BBC news, I have a lot of white hairs and certainly don't look younger than my age; yet I was asked for ID. It is not even for shopping in store; it is for the delivery of food stuff to my door. This is Sainsburys who knows how to treat a 55 year old male customer fairly. When I complained to Sainsburys customer service, I was told it's the law: as long as the driver felt he needed to check your ID, you had to comply. So the driver has this power, but isn’t this power a bit excessive? In the end, I didn’t get the food stuff I ordered. That was just a day before the lock down 2.0. I hope I won’t go hunger in this lock down thanks to Sainsburys delivery policy and the excessive power it gives to its drivers.
