Ripped Off by a Cowboy Builder

I have bought a building off Jonathan Walker which fell down all but the back of the house which was held up by scaffold.
Jonathan Walker is a COWBOY BUILDER he trades under the name of Woodhouse (LUND) ltd but changed his name from REEF HOMES who build our wreck.

New houses in LUND near Diffield East Yorkshire
We have always wanted to live in the beautiful village of Lund, so we made a day of it and looked at three new houses being built by a local builder in the village; my wife brought a friend who knows the area well as he was a policeman in the east riding for many years. We looked at the houses and retired to the pub in the village for lunch, where we discussed the pros and cons of a possible purchase. We were overheard by a couple of ladies who knew the wife’s friend who advised against any purchase from that builder, they went on to explain the builder had changed his company name from REEF HOMES as there had been a lot of legal action regarding several homes and or buildings he and his previous company had been involved in.
They gave us a name of a couple living in a nearby village and advised we contact them; we did by phone through our friend and his contacts, they gave us a solicitor to contact. They also advised to do some digging with the local planning department before we made up our minds on any of the builders properties. We retired to the restaurant where we were served by a very nice person who overheard our conversation, they (as they served our meal) advised (in a low voice) not to buy from that builder as previous purchasers had complained about extreme shoddy and dangerous workmanship, who then had to resort the legal action, as Mr Walker refused to put the deficits right hiding behind several lawyers and solicitors, changing his Ltd company to dodge his responsibilities.
We were now intrigued and decided to look into this and contact the people advised by my wife’s friend and previous customer.
We phoned the solicitor who gave us a name of a Surveyor who in turn gave us another surveyor who worked with Mr Walker who had legal action taken against him because of the REEF HOMES builder, who we now know definitely as a Mr J Walker. All of the above gave sound advice – “do not buy any house from this builder” - we thanked the people we contacted and accepted their advice.
We still are hoping one day to live in Lund but we will now look to an existing house rather than a new one.
We are not saying not to buy any of these three houses, we are saying we are not and would never take a chance with so much adverse advice for so much money.

Any should be made straight to Northumberland Trading Standards, Northumbria Police/Durham Constabulary, HMRC and other such authorities.

Actually Northumberland Trading Standards are the poorest organisation I have ever had the displeasure to come across. So you are wasting your time complaining to them imho.

I have now been told that a legal team are watching very closely the results of any purchaser being hurt in these buildings and that the local council will be complicit if and accidents occur.

Yes i have by the Cowboy Builder Jonathan Walker, now trading as Moorhouse (Lund) Ltd but was the worst of all of them as REEF Homes, he changed his name again to avoid people back.

This person is the worst, he traded as REEF Homes and built unsafe houses, the last one took 140,000 to put right, this is borne out by the litigation, the out of court settlement and the planning officer of Beverley in East Yorkshire.
He has since changed his name to WOODHOUSE (Lund) Ltd and building the same unsafe properties as he did before. He will be caught again but he just changes his company and moves on. He has connections in the Council as he was a council Leader and his family take turns to hold that position (his uncle is now in that position) his family are the biggest landowners and his wife has the Nursery also in the village, also the Beverley council keep giving him planning permission, so something is wrong there as well.
Please can you help as someone will get hurt of even killed if he is not stopped, I have tried but the village council under the family control override it.

Northumberland Trading Standards are in my honest opinion the worst organisation I have ever come across, they actually claim that it's not in the public interest to prosecute Rogue Builders who commit serious fraud in relation to elderly and vulnerable people, despite there being numerous cases (in to double figures and most with Building Inspectors Reports or CCJ's) and allegedly as many as 24 complaints.

According to FOI requests Northumberland Trading Standards had one prosecution in five years for £100 at the Magistrates, and may as well not exist.

They will try and hide behind the morally bankrupt LGO, and the limited powers of other organisations, but their own incompetence and ineptitude is plain to see, as is that of their management.

They even accuse the very people who are the victims of crime of wrong doing and collect pointless data which they will keep about you for at least six years including medical data and personal sensitive data and hide behind the fact they can collect data under their remit, so be extremely careful what you tell them as it will inevitable end up on their records, indeed a lot of the records they kept on us were not even correct and was also very trivial and were used to discredit us, and we were the victims of fraud.

Northumberland Trading Standards constantly harp on about their limited powers despite taking cases directed to the police by a concerned MP back in to their fold, in order to take no action.

Our only regret is letting Northumberland Trading Standards on to our property in the first place.

Bowmont Home Improvements Limited

This should be noted that Mark Fittes has new limited company partnership with Gary Henderson, called Bowmont Home Improvements Limited as recorded on the Companies House Beta Website.

Bowmont Home Improvements Limited having the same address as 'Pay As You Glow Limited', also run by a Gary Henderson, which was recently made the subject of a compulsory winding up order by the High Court.

Whilst a similar sounding Gary Henderson also has a company registered in the name of 'Glow Heating Limited' with a well known London post office forwarding address at 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU used bu numerous companies, and the same address in Sunderland as the former company 'Pay as You Glow'.

Whilst the same address in Ponteland as 'Bowmont Home Improvements' companies house registered addressis used on the new 'Glow Heating and Bathrooms Website'. However the operationaal address for 'Bowmont Home Improvements' is at a Garden Centre in Wansbeck in Northumberland.

As for Mr Fittes he has in fact just come out of personal bankrutcy for a second time and has also had numerous limited companies in the past such as BSG Limited which was also the subject of a compulsory winding up order by the High Court and WeatherAll (North East) Limited once again struck off without paying it's debts.

Indeed you can go all the way back to the 1990's with WeatherAll Limited, North East Building Solutions, North East Building Services, BSG Limited and WeatheAll (North East) Limited and many other companies of Mr Fittes that have left debts or resulted in his bankruptcy.

Mr Fittes seems to have a lot of problems when it comes to business and indeed when it comes to trading fairly, and you can see some of Mr Fittes and indeed Mr Hendersons information on sites such as companies house beta website and the London Gazette.

I also advise anyone reading this to be very careful when it comes to paying any money up front or deposits, indeed do not pay a penny until you have the corrent materials and the job is carried out to your satisfaction, especially when it comes to companies with limited liability and people with a known track record of bankruptcy and liquidation.
