Good afternoon.
I have a new issue regarding fitting of windows in my house.

A well known window company gave me a quote for a new front door, and 3 new windows that I agreed to. Contracts were signed.

A surveyor came to look at the job and picked up no potential issues.

On the day of the installation it became evident that they could not install my lounge window, its being converted from a bay back to a flat window, but there appears to be missing brickwork above where the bay window was installed.

The company told me they can't complete the job and have offered to give me a reduction in my overall price or give my the window at a reduced price but they will not install it.

if I agree to this I am agreeing to change our contract.
I believe that I am in my rights for that window to be installed at the agreed price, and if any additional work needed wasn't picked up by the surveyor then that fault lies with the company.

Happy to hear any thoughts.

awful situation for you, hope you get it sorted, there seems to be a lot of problems with the company (if its the one I am thinking, of a market leader?) I have a problem in that we can't get a date for installation to start (deposit paid last July) and they are not returning my calls, appalling way to treat customers, they have no idea about customer services, they should not have taken our money blatant fraud, they have work outstanding form 2019!

Oh, I hope that you solved this problem because the situation is terrible. I had a similar situation, but in my case, the window was installed at the agreed price. I understand how difficult is to find a good windows replacement company because some of them are swindlers

Unfortunately, the market is full of unreliable companies. Your situation is really awful. Maybe you should use another company the next time. I've read about a good one - https://thwindowsdoors.com/markham-windows-and-doors/. I don't know where you live, but it is a good markham window replacement company. My friends were satisfied with the service. The prices are great and they have a good reputation. I hope it will be useful
