I did write that he shouldn't have too much bother with the occupants.

However, looking through the Land Registry for 23 Leinster Gardens, Paddington, London W2 3AN, it seems some clever person has now built a hotel in that space.

you are correct, this was the reply I got on 07/10/09:

Dear xxxxx_x,

Thank you for contacting PayPal with your concern regarding sales that
potentially violate PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy. We will investigate
the matter and take appropriate action as necessary.

Still no explanation to why XL are advertising backups of the computer game FORZA 3 as 'in stock', when the game is not even legally available to buy in the UK until the 23rd October, and 27th October in North America.

1. XL only sell 'backups' provided the buyer agrees that they own the original, but until the 23rd October, it impossible for anyone to own an original of FORZA 3, therefore the buyer must agree to something that both the buyer and seller know will be broken

2. The only way this game could have been aquired is from an illegal source. It is impossible for XL to own an original of this game, let alone legally sell 'backup' copies of it.

.......1+2= XL IS selling pirated software.

He's not actually advertising anything this morning, as his Singapore webhost has suspended his site. Myserverhosts.com has put up a notice reading:

This Account Has Been Suspended
Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible.

Oh, dear.

How very sad. :D

I do hope he finds a reliable, "black hat" web host soon. Do you suppose a Russian or a Chinese web host might be more resistant to reports that he is a "pirate"?

On doing a quick traceroute, I see he's opted for America.

He's still hosted in Singapore isn't he?

Either he's done something funny to Demon's DNS servers - which could contravene the Computer Misuse Act - or the systems that reckon he's still at qala.com.sg haven't updated yet.

We know he's been fiddling with it all day. Is it likely that he'd have taken it down this morning with the "site suspended" notice, fiddled with it and then put it back up again on the same servers, or is it more likely he's moved it to America once more?
